OUR MISSION
Brave Like Ellie is a nonprofit organization that serves families affected by pediatric cancer at any stage of their journey. We provide families with Brave Boxes that include toys, activities, and other items to Encourage Bravery, Inspire Joy, and Provide Comfort to families.
BEYOND THE MISSION
We want to provide connections with others who have the same or similar missions to bring awareness to these illnesses and how the children and families are impacted by these illnesses, while providing opportunities for us to live out our mission and bringing joy at any stage in their journey.
OUR WHY
We seek to help those affected by childhood cancer for many reasons and are trusting that our path will be led in the coming days.
To start, as parents of Ellie Grace, we know firsthand what it is like to see your child fight cancer.
Second, we believe that we have an inside look into this world and can identify some needs of other families affected by childhood cancer.
Third, we want to honor Ellie and remember all the joy that she brought to this world. We want her light to shine through us.
FAQs
WHO/HOW WE HELP:
Do you support families whose loved one’s pediatric cancer is in remission? Yes! We provide Brave Boxes to families at any stage in their journey from just being diagnosed, seeking treatment, and those in remission.
Do you provide financial assistance? We do not provide financial assistance but we do offer connections to other organizations that may provide that assistance.
Do you provide care packages for children with other illnesses or conditions? At this time, our mission is to provide care packages for children and families affected by pediatric cancer only.
Do you support adults with cancer? At this time, we provide Brave Boxes to families who have children under 18 who have been diagnosed with cancer. Our boxes do, however, support all members of the family.
How and why do you support the entire family? We know that when a child is diagnosed with cancer, the entire family is affected. We support families by providing Brave Boxes that fit their specific needs. Our boxes include items for the patients, siblings, and parents affected by pediatric cancer.
Do you ship internationally? At this time, we only ship boxes within the United States but we hope to expand beyond this area in the future!
May we nominate ourselves for a Brave Box? Absolutely!
Can I nominate a family to receive a Brave Box? Absolutely! Anyone may nominate a family. Once we receive a nomination form, We will contact the family directly to learn more about the child’s interests and preferences. Please click on the “Brave Box” tab in the menu, then choose “Nominations for a Brave Box” to begin the nomination process!
ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION:
Are you a registered non-profit? Yes, we are registered with the State of Texas and officially became a 501c3 tax exempt organization in 2019.
Where does my donation go? When you donate to Brave Like Ellie, that money goes directly to furthering our mission through Brave Boxes and outreach events.
